If the topic raises as much ire in the Thai community as it does here on TV in the farang community, I'm surprised the entire country hasn't erupted into civil war. And the farang don't even have a dog in the fight! 330 posts in the thread and no end in sight. I think you will find it does raise as much if not more ire in Thai community, this is why you have the numbers joining demonstrations and many others support it financially. Many posters on here are making silly posts because a previous poster has made a spelling mistake. There is no understanding that not everyone that posts on here uses English as there first language even my American friends spell differently to me but that does not mean they are wrong. Or maybe they think there are more than 1 way to solve a problem and there usually is. Until everyone speaks and writes (both politicians and TV members) from what they believe and not what is in there best interest the world will always have huge problems. From Koh Samui to Malaysia you can almost jump from one platform to the other. Up is the dispute with Cambodia about the sea borders. All the major and minor powers, USA, UK, France, Singapore, China are pulling the strings in the background. Both Abhisit and Thaksin can't do anything without them agree. But PAD or a military dictator would be a big disturbance of these deals (unless they have already made deals as well). The Joe Farang Englishteacher has as little to say as Somchai Somtamseller. If I have any doubt there is a little box at the top of my screen that will not only give me correct spelling but allow me to check if I am using the word appropriately. I don't normally comment on someone's spelling mistakes unless I find something comical, making such a mistake while disparaging another's intelligence is at least amusing. Some make it for easy for foreign investments and company's and others do otherwise. I believe it was Thaksin who introduced street closures to test every single person(example's Nana in BKK use to get closed off and every single person lined up for a drug test, including foreigners), thankfully this practice has stopped, and now they only drug test the locals and staff. IMHO many people will see this a having very little to do with them even if it comes to fighting. Others will be inclined one way or the other, but without sufficient motivation to actually do anything, and others while highly motivated will temper their ardour with the thought that taking a knife to a gunfight is pretty stupid. In Sumatra there is a monument to an Indonesian that was so incensed that the Japanese had invaded that he attacked a patrol with a length of bamboo. It marks his grave. He has a lot of scores to settle with those countries that wouldn't let him in. I guess the UAE and Montenegro will get visa waivers for life and the Brits, Europeans and Americans...well lets just say if he gets back we are well and truly screwed.
