Which 3G Microsim Prepaid For 1 Week In Thailand?

Featured Replies

Hey guys

Here is what I need

1) 1 week in Thailand

2) Will get SIM from Phuket

3) Need to use the SIM for one week in Bangkok and Phuket (kata beach)

4) Need microsim if possible for iPhone (or will cut it myself)

5) 3G data pack is a MUST - intend to use it for everyday net usage --- Probably 1GB atleast for a week to tether and stuff..

6) Make a few international calls --- mainly for incoming

Now

1) Which Company to go for ? Need good 3G service if possible.. for a bit extra buck if needed

2) Which SIM to go for and plan ??

3) Which Data pack and voice pack to go for ?

4) Where can I get it? and is activation easy (in english or thai??)

5) Will 3G data bought in Phuket be roaming in Bangkok??

6) What documents needed for a prepaid sim?

7) Anything else I need to keep in mind??

Cheers

any suggestion guys??

iPhone 3GS? Or 4/4S?

1) Which Company to go for ? Need good 3G service if possible.. for a bit extra buck if needed ' TrueMove H. DTAC/Happy (they have a 1 week/1 GB plan)

2) Which SIM to go for and plan ?? Any SIM, any plan.

3) Which Data pack and voice pack to go for ? Any data pack, voice is by the minute.

4) Where can I get it? and is activation easy (in english or thai??) Anywhere, everywhere: there are mobile phone shops everywhere, or convenience stores like 7/11.

5) Will 3G data bought in Phuket be roaming in Bangkok?? Yes.

6) What documents needed for a prepaid sim? None, other than baht.

7) Anything else I need to keep in mind?? Look both ways before crossing the street.

Its a iPhone 4S

1) Which Company to go for ? Need good 3G service if possible.. for a bit extra buck if needed ' TrueMove H. DTAC/Happy (they have a 1 week/1 GB plan)

So not AIS? I heard AIS has best network? not true?? then which one between AIS / TrueMove / DTAC (Happy)

5) Will 3G data bought in Phuket be roaming in Bangkok?? Yes.

So means I pay extra for roaming?? or its all national and no need to pay extra

Thanks

Its all national, there is no roaming per se. I guess I meant to say that one SIM/plan will work in both Phuket and Bangkok. As you can see from reviewing the plans linked there is no extra charge.

AIS/One-2-Call, DTAC/Happy and TrueMove H are the #1, #2 and #3 providers here. Your phone will work on any of these. Some people are very passionate about their service provider, others think they they all suck. Who knows which will ultimately be best for you? I suspect any one of these should be fine?
