332
If Miller was 'set up' why would he plead guilty? Actually many people plead guilty in Thailand for many reasons. 1) very large reduction in sentence (up to 50%). 2) Better chance of an early pardon. 3) dealing with a judicial and legal system beyond your grasp. 4) corruption, dishonesty, bribes and extortion at every level of the people you will be fighting against. The convicted pedophile's lawyer is now a fugitive for that in the new development: Thai court orders arrest of fake Scottish lawyer A SCOT is wanted by police in Thailand after failing to appear in court to answer charges of fraudulently posing as a lawyer. Brian Goldie, 47, from Falkirk, who practises under the name Brian Goudie, is accused of conning an American woman out of £180,000. He was due to appear at the Provincial Court in Pattaya, yesterday to submit himself for trial and pay bail. When he did not appear the court issued an order for his arrest. Mr Goldie had agreed to represent Mrs Millers son, Gregory, who had obtained a job teaching at an international school near Pattaya. Miller, 46, was arrested and charged with paying for sex with under-aged boys. - More - http://www.scotsman.com/news/scotland/top-stories/thai-court-orders-arrest-of-fake-scottish-lawyer-1-3282896 This is not possible. Mac D
So the boys were willing victims and nothing was forced? A 9 year old boy does not have the mental capacity to understand that when uncle says 'come over here and play a game and I will give you 100 baht or buy you a new toy' that what is happening is wrong. It is called 'grooming'. There are five stages of 'grooming. Remember - Ninety percent of child molesters know their victims. Stage 1: Identifying a Possible Victim Although pedophiles differ in their “type” regarding age, appearance and gender, all pedophiles will look for a victim who seems in some way vulnerable. Stage 2: Collecting Information The next step is for the pedophile to collect as much information on the targeted victim as possible. This is most commonly done through casual conversations with both the child and the parents or caretaker. Stage 3: Filling a Need Once the individual has the information he needs, he then becomes part of the child’s life by filling a need. If the victim is poor, for example, the pedophile will provide him/her with expensive toys. If the victim is lonely, the pedophile will act as a friend. Stage 4: Lowering Inhibitions The pedophile will then start to lower the child’s inhibitions concerning sexual matters. He may come up with games or activities that involve getting undressed, make sexual comments or show the child pornographic images or pictures. Stage 5: Initiating the Abuse At this final stage, the pedophile begins to sexually abuse the child. A big portion of these pedophiles will pick a family that is distressed. They’ll pick someone who’s underfunded, maybe both parents are working or it’s a single mother, there may be illness in the family and the kids are kind of being pushed to the side and being neglected. Child abuse is just plain wrong - there is no such thing as 'willing victims' - they are children whose lives are destroyed by despicable predators.
