JIAXING, CHINA (BNO NEWS) -- A building under construction collapsed at a work site in eastern China on Saturday morning, burying thirteen people, local authorities said. All but one of the victims have since been rescued.

The accident occurred at around 10:25 a.m. local time at a construction site in the Port and Development Zone in the city of Jiaxing, which is located in the eastern province of Zhejiang. Thirteen people were buried by the collapse, although it was not immediately known whether they are construction workers or other people.

The state-run Xinhua news agency reported that rescue workers were able to save twelve people from the debris, leaving only one person missing. The rescued victims were rushed to a local hospital, and their conditions were not immediately released. Search-and-rescue work for the last person was continuing on late Saturday.
