Non-Imm Type B Ends Soon & Would Like To Stay To Search For New Job?

Featured Replies

The story so far ..

I'm a brit in my late 20's, entered thailand on a 90 day non-immigrant type b single entry visa and work permet obtained at London embassy. I resigned three weeks ago and would like to stay in the country to look for a new job.

Visa expired on the 17th (Was supposed to go back to UK on the 9th which I cancelled). Under the girlfriends recommendation I went to get an extension, thinking it was 30days but ended up being 7 (not doing my home work here).

Visa now expires on the 24th of june and I understand I need to leave and renter on a new visa??

Do I need to leave and come back in on a tourist visa until I find a new job and then reapply for a type b non-imm? or can I extend the non-imm type b? what's the most affordable vs quickest vs best for future employment option?

I would like to stay for a few years if I find the right jobs.

I appreciate any help on the matter.

Go apply for a Tourist Visa, Vientiane or perhaps Savanakhet Laos, may be good choices. Apply for a single or double entry, each entry is for 60 days, and each can be extended for 30 days within Thailand for 1900 Baht. When you have an offer of employment, then apply for a Non-Immigrant "B" again.

I did not think the Thai Embassy in London gave out Work Permits!!!!!!!!

You can exit and enter by land or air, your choice.

as the other post said, leave Thailand and return on a Tourist visa, then look for a position, when you have one then go outside of Thailand and apply for a Non Immigrant B visa.
