Crime Man Murders Brother-in-Law and Injures Wife and Nephew Before Fleeing in Truck

A violent domestic dispute turned deadly in Nakhon Si Thammarat, when a man allegedly stabbed his brother-in-law to death and left his wife and her nephew critically injured, before fleeing the scene in a six-wheel truck. Authorities have launched a manhunt and are preparing to issue an arrest warrant. The incident occurred shortly after 01:20 on 18 July, in a rubber plantation area in Moo 5, Hua Taphan subdistrict, Tha Sala district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The site was being used as a temporary camp by a team of rubberwood contractors. According to police from Tha Sala Police Station and emergency responders from the Siam Ruamjai Poo In Foundation, the scene showed multiple bloodstains and signs of a violent altercation. Three victims were initially reported. Two of them, Ms. Panthip 38 and Mr. Jakkrit 25, were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Ms. Panthip suffered stab wounds to her arm and torso and had been severely beaten. Mr. Jakkrit was found with a knife embedded in his back. The third victim, Mr. Panupong 25, later died at hospital despite the medical team’s efforts to save him. He had suffered extensive internal injuries. Ms. Panthip, who survived the attack, identified the suspect as her 42-year-old husband, Mr. Phanom. She told police that the deceased and injured men were her younger brother and nephew, who had been working at the site with them. Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple had recently agreed to a deal involving the purchase and processing of rubberwood in the area. Late on night of 17 July, an argument reportedly broke out between Mr. Phanom and his wife over the involvement of her family members in the business, whom he claimed were not performing their duties properly. The dispute later escalated into violence. Mr. Phanom allegedly assaulted his wife before turning on her brother and nephew when they tried to intervene. He then fled the scene in a six-wheel lorry. Police are now gathering evidence and working with the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Court to secure an arrest warrant. Authorities have vowed to bring the suspect to justice as soon as possible. Accident Woman Tragically Dies in Lift Malfunction at Bangkok Company
Picture courtesy of Thai Rath BANGKOK - A 46-year-old woman employed at a Bangkok company tragically lost her life after being trapped by a malfunctioning lift. On 18th July at 1:45 pm, police officer Thanapol Manosorn of Samran Rat received a report of a fatal lift accident at a commercial building in Bangkok’s Pom Prap Sattru Phai district. Emergency services and the police attended the scene promptly. The incident occurred in a four-story building comprising three adjoining units. This building houses a forklift spare parts business. On the mezzanine floor, authorities found the body of a woman, named as Ms. Koi (alias), aged 46. She was fatally trapped by the head between the lift and the wall. Initial police enquiries revealed that people typically used the lift to transport goods. While Ms. Koi and a male colleague were using the lift from the second to the first floor, it malfunctioned. Her colleague managed to climb to safety, but Ms. Koi was tragically caught as she attempted to escape, reported Thai Rath. The authorities will perform an autopsy at the Police Hospital before releasing the body to her family for funeral rites. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Thai Rath 2025-07-19
