Johnniey
I know the word for 'washer' is แหวน but what would I call a split washer? A split washer is a ring split at one point and bent into a helical shape.
billd766
I find that the easiest way to ask for somethis is to get a photo from Google and also do a Google translate of the words and then print out both on the same sheet. There are many times a picture is worth many thousand words. If that works get the Thai person to write the item name in Thai on the print out and then scan it into your PC. Somewhere deep in the bowels of my computer I am sure I ahve an excel file with stuff like this on it. Edited June 29, 2012 by billd766

cdnski12
I spent several days running around Udon looking for Screws, Washers & Lag Bolts. Everything was called LEK. Drove me nuts. I think Lek = Iron (common bar girl name).
Murf
If it is a girls name that is prnounced Lek it will be a high tone and it means 'small' If we are talking about metal/iron it is pronounced the same, but with a low tone.
