July 4, 201214 yr I am thinking of visiting Chiang Mai and would then like to fly down to Pattaya, I know the airport fro Pattaya is nearer to Sattahip but are there flights and if so what airline flies the route so I can have a look at timetables and prices? Thanks for any help.
July 4, 201214 yr From Chiangmai to Utapao? Bangkok Airways uses Utapao, but you would have to change before to get there and that would be at Phuket or Ko Samui Edited July 4, 201214 yr by beano2274

As far as I remember from a few years ago to get to almost anywhere in Thailand you had to go via Bangkok. My boss at one time wanted to send me to Ubon Ratchathani from Khon Kaen by air even though I had a car and driver. I had to explain to him slowly with small words that first I would have to go from Khon Kaen to BKK, miss my connection there and wait another day and then catch a flight to Ubon plus the overnight in BKK. Also my car and driver would have to go to Ubon anyway with all the tools and test equipment. He is still in the business and higher up the food chain in a different country. I on the other hand am retired and stress free.
July 4, 201214 yr Fly from CM to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Int'l airport. Go to Wikitravel they tell you how to go from Swampy to Pattaya - http://wikitravel.org/en/Pattaya
July 4, 201214 yr If there was a flight, the price would be quite a bit more and the options quite a bit less. From Utapao to Pattaya proper is at least 45 minutes. From the airport to Pattaya proper is only 45 minutes more. 1200B for a private taxi.
July 5, 201214 yr Check Air Asia and Nok Air for decent pricing. CM to BKK is your best route. Make sure you fly to BKK though and not Don Muang.
July 5, 201214 yr Could fly into Don Muang then take the train to Hua Lamphong, from there must be trains or minivans to Pattaya. Or get off the train at Bang Sue, and take a bus or motorcycle to Mochit Bus Station. There are many ways to get from Downtown Bangkok to Pattaya
July 5, 201214 yr Author Thanks for all the imformation, as there will be 4 of us and 2 with large luggage, motorcycles and mini vans might not be the prefered form of transport, so maybe a coach or taxi from BKK is the one to look into.

You can book a van (minibus) here at very reasonable price : http://www.thelimopattaya.com/index.php?lay=show&ac=article&Id=561301 Very reliable. Have used them for many years (trips) now as do my friends. Yermanee
July 5, 201214 yr No need to fly. At the base level of Suvarnabhumi there is a bus service to Pattaya. It costs a rough 100 THB per person and you'll get there in one hour.
July 6, 201214 yr Rent a small cargo plane, have a limo meet your entourage in PYX and party like rock stars.
July 8, 201214 yr You sure can if you take LCD and teleport there. The only way you can get there via plane, is using a light aircraft.
July 9, 201213 yr Check Air Asia and Nok Air for decent pricing. CM to BKK is your best route. Make sure you fly to BKK though and not Don Muang. This is really going to annoy allot of people in Pattaya in the future.
