Non-Immigrant ‘O’ Visa For Marriage, Run To Penang Thai Consulate

Featured Replies

Has anyone been to Penang recently on a visa run, I found the following info on internet as regarding visa application there...... ( In the case of a Non-Immigrant ‘O’ Visa for Marriage, you must submit a copy of your marriage certificate, a photo of your spouse, ID of your spouse, along with a copy of your Thai Bank book.)

I havent done this run for many years as the rules kept changing as well as my surcumtances...Just wanted to know if this info is correct and what are they looking for in your bank book(how mutch) ,as I was unable to find more info on this subject.

thanks....

I thought Penang Thai consulate closed years ago? Am I wrong?

The Consulate has never closed but they have not been very friendly in recent years. Not sure if bank book or how much but that normally is required for multi entry non immigrant O visa issue now. And suspect it may require 400k. KL only requires 100k and it seems most people go there for visas when in Malaysia. The best current choice for that type of visa is Savannakhet in Laos where no bank account show is currently required. Also most Consulates will require both copy of wife ID card and home register as well as marriage certificate.
