Explaining Timelapses In Thai

Featured Replies

So I'm working on this project right now that involves me standing around public places with a camera mounted to a railing/bridge/normal-city-object pointed at seemingly mundane city scenes. Every few seconds the camera clicks. Sometimes I stand there for 10 minutes, sometimes I stand there for 2 hours, sometimes more (in which case I watch movies on my iphone or something).

But invariably I attract lots of attention, mostly in the form of stares from curious bypassers, sometimes by stares from concerned security men. But occasionally people talk to me.

My Thai is decent, but I've yet to figure out how to tell them what I'm doing. It's hard enough trying to explain it in English, and it's much easier if the person has seem a timelapse before and understands it. But even after mashing together badly-phrased Thai and showing them examples on my phone, they usually walk away thinking I'm crazy and/or stupid.

So what would be an appropriate and efficient way of saying something like,

"I'm taking a hundreds of photos of this place so I can later put them together to form a fast-forwarded movie."

Currently I kind of say something to the effect of "take many photos afterwards make movie"

Even in English it sounds awkward and always requires further explanation.... any help on the Thai side is much appreciated!
