khunken
Just recently attempting to upload emails from Outlook Express has only 2 speeds - dead slow & stop. I use OE to upload (& download) emails to (&from) my gmail account. I've checked all my settings thoroughly & come to the conclusion the problem is either with True (most likely) or the Gmail smtp server. Speed test shows close to .5mbs upload speed as per my package. Anyone with the same problem or knowledge of True 'interference' (e.g. content scanning) with uploading messages? Thanks for the response. Dropped the virus part of Zone Alarm & this seems to have worked.
bangkockney
IMAP or POP? Do you have large subfolders in Gmail? Version of OE? How often is OE auto-checking for new messages?

Our posts seem to have crossed. Thanks for your help & I seem to have fixed the problem myself.
bbradsby
Changing port settings rectified this SMTP issue for me.
