12 Year old boy drowns at Jomtien Beach

PATTAYA:--A 12 year old boy drowned in waters off Dongtan Beach in Jomtien on Monday afternoon.

Rescue Services and Police were called to the area by the father of the boy who had already been removed from the water. The Father, Khun Nakhon aged 31, who works as a driver for a tour company, explained to Police that he accompanied a group of Taiwanese tourists to Dongtan Beach.

His son came along and was told that if he wanted to go into the water he must wear a life jacket as he could not swim. The father is unsure of exactly what happened but the boy appeared to have disregarded his fathers instructions and entered the water without a life jacket. He was found one hour later.

Very sad indeed.

Very sad.

Rest In Peace little boy.

I was walking past the Police station in Jomtien and saw his body in the back of the ambulance, his lips were as blue as the sky, very tragic and not something I wish to see again. RIP

Sad news - RIP.

Unfortunately the stats for children drowning in Thailand are appalling with claims as high as seven per day.

That's just tragic.

RIP little fella and condolences to the family and friends.

Rest In Peace.
