I had a prescription for this drug back in the USA. Is it possible to obtain this drug legally in Chiang Mai? If not, would a trip down to Bangkok help?

I have read in a lot of places that it is simply unavailable, that ritalin is the best alternative you can get here. In a couple of places it was mentioned that ADHD for adult Thais is often treated with this medication. So with proper documentation from my doctor in the USA would it be possible?

I cannot speak for this drug in particular, but there are drugs in Thailand that are unavailable at the pharmacy on the corner. Only hospital pharmacies are authorized to carry those drugs, and with a doctor's prescription at that. You might be best off making an appointment with a doctor here, and ask him or her to write a prescription for the drug you're seeking.

Adderall isn't available in Thailand but you can get Ritalin in CM from the Suanprung hospital

If you can get proper documentation from your doctor in the USA why not have him just fill out a prescription and have a family member fill it at a pharmacy and mail it to you..I do this all the time for medications I require but cannot obtain here.

I am quite sure that if the package was opened by customs, he would be in a heap of trouble importing amphetamines into the Country; prescription or not. The relative may be in trouble as well. Not a good idea.
