Thailand Tourist Visa For Foreigners In China, Where To Get One Easily ?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Do you have any update about getting a Thai tourist visa in China ? (for EU passport)

Seems difficult at Beijing ?

And somewhere else ?

Thanks.

30 days on arrival would do fine. then once in thailand if you wanted longer, there are options

If you are already in China it might be worth the try but I wouldn't make a trip there to just get a visa.

Website links for embassy and consulates can be found here: http://www.thaiembassy.org/main/

Was in Beijing October 2011. After mix up with Thai immigration on transit through Thailand had to apply for new 60 day Visa at Thai Embassy in Beijing staff there were very helpful. they normally don't issue Visa for Thailand. when I explained my situation they told me all they could do was present my case to there superior. Had to leave Passport with Embassy for two days and as I was going to be out of Beijing walking on the wall they allowed me to have someone else come pick-up my passport.

I got my Visa so cannot speak highly enough of the service they provided At Thai embassy Beijing. They were fantastic to deal with.

From most countries you can get a 30 day tourist visa on arrival in Thailand anyway.

" they normally don't issue Visa for Thailand "

You mean: to foreigners ?

Because a consulate exists only to allow people of the country to apply for a visa.

But it seems that Chinese dictators do not allow foreigners to get a visa for Thailand in China.

1. You obtain a 30 day visa exempt entry into Thailand - this is not a tourist visa and requires proof of onward travel by airlines to board in many cases.

2. Consulates exist to help there own nationals as well as issue visas and such. Thai Consulates in China, as in Japan, normally prefer to issue visas to host country nationals and residents rather than everyone.

rolleyes.gif There are a number of Thai consulates in China.

You can find a list of them here:

As another poster pointed out above....they are usually used for Chinese nationals that want a visa to Thailand...and they don't normally process foriegner's tourist visas to Thailand.

But I don't know for certain they won't. Just that it might be a more unusual request for them.

Personally I would think your best bet would be the Thai consulate in Hong Kong....which is part of China.

You can find that address on the website above....just look for it.

I think it was on the top left labeled "other locations near China" or something like that.

Because of the number of foriegn tourists passing through Hong Kong I would assume the Thai consulate there has more experience processing foriegn requests for Thai tourist visas than Thai consulates on the mainland.
