Transport Suvarnabhumi Named World’s No.1 Airport for Airlines Served
It not a bad airport and they are improving it but being the airport that has the most airlines use is just an indication of a busy airport. Quality wise its gotten better with the train system and imm processing is much faster but a large part if it is a dump. -

Myanmar Opposition Court Jails Nine for Priest’s Murder
OSV News photo/ In a striking display of parallel justice, a court aligned with Myanmar’s exiled opposition has sentenced nine men to 20 years in prison for the brutal killing of a Catholic priest earlier this year. The case, reported on 17 July by the Vatican-linked Fides news agency, centres on the death of Father Donald Martin Ye Naing Win, who was found mutilated on 14 February in the compound of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Kan Gyi Taw, a village in the embattled Sagaing region. Father Win, 44, was a well-regarded parish priest in the Archdiocese of Mandalay, known for his work with children affected by the civil war. Local sources and church officials initially reported that he had been stabbed, but further investigation revealed he was shot. The nine convicted men were reportedly members of armed groups loosely associated with the People’s Defense Forces (PDF), the military wing of the National Unity Government (NUG) — Myanmar’s opposition-in-exile. Despite their affiliation, PDF units themselves were said to have tracked down and arrested the perpetrators. “In some way, the PDF tried to bring to justice the armed men who, in the situation of general instability, are out of control,” a local source told Fides. The motive remains unclear. The trial was conducted under the NUG’s informal justice system, which has emerged in areas beyond junta control. While loosely based on Myanmar’s pre-coup legal code and international human rights norms, these courts remain controversial due to limited transparency and inconsistent procedures. “We are somewhat relieved there has been accountability,” said a priest from Mandalay identifying himself only as Father John. “But even the family would like greater clarity and full justice. There are still too many unanswered questions.” The killing sent shockwaves through Myanmar’s Christian community and drew condemnation from senior clergy. Cardinal Charles Maung Bo of Yangon called the incident a heartbreaking loss and urged an end to the violence gripping the nation since the 2021 military coup. Sagaing, a stronghold of anti-junta resistance, remains one of the most violently contested regions in the country. While the conviction marks a rare instance of justice, it also underscores the broader chaos in which law, faith, and armed struggle continue to collide. -2025-07-22 -
