Yingluck

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Tuesday said she was prepared to rebut the opposition's censure should the motion of noconfidence be filed upon the reconvening of the House next month.

"The opposition is obliged to check on the performance and the government is dutybound to explain its work via Parliament," she said.

Yingluck said she was uncertain whether the opposition would target her or the Cabinet members for the censure debate.

In regard to speculation about Cabinet reshuffle, she said she had not had any thoughts on the new lineup at this juncture.

Earlier, Yingluck rarely attended House meetings to answer motions but mostly assigned her deputies to answer questions of the opposition.

Political observers expect that the Democrats will attack inaccurate information given to the public by Yingluck as part of its character assassination plan during the censure showdown.

And then she ran to the restrooms to cal

Will she turn up for this meeting?

I don't think the opposition will accept "I don't know anything about that, i haven't read the document" as a response this time around...

You have to ask the relevant departments. I have no idea what is going on with that rice buying thing. Something my brother initiated I believe but that is all I know. Next question..

If Yingluck plays it right she could be home within 2 hours after arriving government house.

what excuse will she come up with? Must be a challenge to find something, now.... So many have been used already!

How about "Can you wait while I ask my brother"

The one thing I have noticed with photo's of the esteemed PM, she is starting to look a little ragged round the edges in comparision with earlier photo's when she was first given the job..poor dear must be worn out shopping for new boots and having to spend 20 minutes a week attending house sessions....whistling.gif

And if the opposition play it right, she could be out of a job within 2 hours of arriving at government house,

but sadly i think the whole sorry bunch of them (both sides) are too inept to organize a pi$$-up in a brewery!

I hope you are right MH, but...................................................?

Lovely photo.

The leader of men.

All those men are her Thaksin assigned babysitters, Their jobs are to make sure she doesnt do anything and to cover it up if she does.

If that's true then they need replacing by someone who can do a better job. Yingluck seems to have had some terrible coaching for a number of her speeches this year.

I have it on reliable assurance that on the day of the censure debate 85 year old Khun Pataporn Grasscutter is retiring from the Udon Thani womens guild. The 8 members of the UTWG have sent an invitation to Yingluck asking her to dine with them on this auspicious occasion. word has it Yingluck is excited and cannot wait to attend, though unfortunately she will have to depart at 5am on the day as she is travelling by tuk tuk to show everyone she does not needlessly waste money on travel expenses. Her entourage will follow her 9 hours later in a convoy of Mercedes there bye ensuring they arrive to photograph her at the dinner just before Yingluck hersel.

A bit of an understatement that! I think it's a shame that she became Prime Minister under these circumstances, she has the ability to make things seem a little better than they are. Unfortunately, things are so bad that she hasn't got a chance.

Oh well, she looks a lot better than Chalerm anyways.

^ #18 tlansford:

Come on, Tom. As especially you frequently mention, it must be incorrect and drivel, one way or another. Unless it's 'notthenation', now let me check that :-)

as part of its character assassination plan during the censure showdown.

Did The Nation mean to be honest in their reporting or was that a slip-up?

Well tlandsford we finally meet again eh?rolleyes.gif The ass-ass-is(NATION) plan is and will be by the opposition. Not the Nation media. I know how hard it can be to resist the desire to read into a article and then to mislead oops I mean misread the news. Nice try thoughthumbsup.gif

This is Yinluck we're talking about right? I didn't know she had _any_ thoughts about anything whatsoever~!

Finally she speaks some truth. No thoughts. Clueless. Awaiting instructions.

Are these some of the same people who condemn the red MPs for being critical of Constitutional Court now making even worse or more outlandish criticisms against Yingluck. A bit of a double standard, especially when arguing that the former should actually be jailed for you guys classify as criminal defamation.

It seems that some have a problem understanding that speaking out publicly what may be deemed inaccurate, half truths or simply lies, is not the same as forum-wise voicing doubts on what one reads here.

Of course if any of the posters here would hold a press conference in Thailand and say or did the same as those Pheu Thai MPs / UDD leaders / 'normal' red-shirts the effect would be a few weeks detention while legal niceties were being sorted out, followed by deportation and a few nice stamps in the passport.

MPs in function, with parliament in session, have more possibilities in saying what they have on their mind. Although in one of the previous debates a year ago it was explicitly forbidden to mention k. Thaksin. Wonder if the same restriction will be tried to be enforced? Surely those HongKong travellers will have had their instructions?

She could always have a Photo Op In Pattaya and have a helicopter that has no lights for night flying. Or the Photo Op could run longer than she planed.

Have some faith in her she will find a way.

On the other hand they could tell her that the first day was going to be all Photo Ops.

I liked this line

"In regard to speculation about Cabinet reshuffle, she said she had not had any thoughts on the new lineup at this juncture."

She is not denying it now. Fact is she does not have to think about it. Her Clone has already got it figured out.

To my shame I must admit to have missed the part of "she had not had any thoughts on the new lineup" which may just be Thai 'lost in translation' or indeed saying that Ms. Yingluck simply had been too busy to consider the new lineup (as set / proposed / suggested by ...).

Anyway PM's Office Minister Worawat Ua-apinyakul has said six days ago "he believed any reshuffle would have to be waited until after August 12."
