Man caught following Money Exchange Shop break-in on Pattaya Beach

PATTAYA:--A 41 year old Thai man was arrested close to a Money Exchange shop on Pattaya Beach early on Wednesday morning as he attempted to make his escape after breaking-in to the shop and allegedly stealing Thai and foreign currency.

The alarm fitted to the shop was activated as soon as the suspect, Khun Somjit, broke through the roof and fell into the cashiers office inside the shop. Security Guards located nearby and the Police did eventually arrive but saw the suspect run away in the direction of Central Festival Pattaya Beach. He was caught and found to have a stash of foreign and Thai currency stuffed inside his trouser pocket.

At Pattaya Police Station the money which totalled the equivalent of over 33,000 Baht was documented and later returned to the owner of the shop, Khun Ponreudee aged 34 who did mentioned that there was at least 20,000 Baht in Thai money missing.
