Mayor focuses on economy, culture, environment, participation in 2nd term

PATTAYA:--Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome called on elected city officials to concentrate on the local economy, public participation, the environment and culture in a speech positioned to frame his work over the next four years.

In a speech at the first Pattaya City Council meeting of the 2012-2016 term, the mayor said elected officials should work together to make Pattaya “the tourism destination for all, pushing to preserve natural and environmental resources with potential in developing a sustainable economy and society with participation from citizens in thinking and acting for a brighter city.”

Just get us real taxi meters and an expanded baht bus route. Why isn't there baht bus service on THIRD road?

Meanwhile they dump raw sewage into the beach where everyone swims. thumbsup.gif

Never in all my years of visiting Pattaya have I seen it as filthy as it is now. They are doing exactly the opposite of preserving natural and environmental resources. Adding a few solar panels around town (which many are already not working) doesn't cut it.
