January 31, 200422 yr In March my wife and I will be moving to the UK. We want to bring some of our personal belongings with us, such as, clothes, books, CD’s and videos, some furniture and some exercise equipment, etc. I want to know if I will have any trouble with customs or if I will have to pay import tax. I have looked at there website and I just got more confused. I would be very grateful if somebody could give me some advice.
January 31, 200422 yr No tax is payable as it is person belongings. What exactly are you bringing with you???
January 31, 200422 yr Author We just want to bring some exercise equipment, a mountain bike, all of our clothes, CD's, video tapes, a teak wood chest of draws, books and magazines, sealed dry food products, some kitchen utensils, and I think that is it.
January 31, 200422 yr Just do it, The dry food I would not mention really. Helpfull, to get a statement from your embassy, that you have lived in LoS for so and so long time and now returning home. (They got the forms on file)
February 1, 200422 yr Author Thanks for your advice. When you say that they have the forms on file, do you mean that they can email them to me?

You may be able to download the form from the Embassy's website, otherwise they'll post it. Hopefully that UK weather won't do for you both.
