New Uk Passport - How Do I Transfer My Old Visa Or Entry Stamp From My Old Passport?

Just received my new UK passport from Hong Kong. Has anyone had experience of transferring the visa/entry stamp from your (now) old passport?

Is it just simply the case of getting the visa/stamp transferred at my local immigration office (Chiang Mai), or can I show both my new and old passport when i next get stamped out of the country, which will prob be in Mai Sai or Bkk?

I had previously been staying here on a tourist visa which expires on 5 Sep.

Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks.

Your tourist visa was used on entry if not valid for more than one and in any case can not be transferred - if valid for another entry you would present with new passport at entry to use it. When you exit you will present both passports. You do not have to visit immigration unless you have lost passport or on a non immigrant extension of stay.

They don't transfer a tourist visa stamp I went through this a couple months back with my new US passport. All you do is go to the office at the border when you do a run into Loas the company I used rocked they had the guy in there and wrapped my paperwork up before the 8am national anthem all for 20bht. About the only thing you end up with is a page of Thai giberish at the front of your passport not sure what it says but I got a double entry no problem.

Actually as my current tourist visa expires on 5 Sep, I may well end up at immigration for an extension of stay (7 days i assume - 1900 Baht), I guess that I just take both my passports with me, if that's the case? Thanks for the replies.
