Pickup Truck Goes Wrong Way in Wild Police Chase

PATTAYA:--A pickup truck driver ran a police blockade in north Pattaya, and led police on a high-speed chase down Second Road, going against the traffic flow. At Khao Phra Tamnak hill, the two men inside abandoned the truck and escaped into the forest.

PATTAYA – August 25, 2012 [PDN]: At 2:30 p.m., a report of a pickup truck running through a police blockade was received by Pol. Maj. Gen. Sakesun Ruewit, suppression inspector of Muang Pattaya police station.

The blockade was set up at the entrance to north Pattaya road to search vehicles for illegal items. However, a blue Izusu pickup truck, registration sign Sor Nor -1784, Bangkok, fled through the blockade. There were two people in the cab of the truck.

Police radioed units to intercept the truck, which was heading toward the Dolphin roundabout. Police assumed the pickup may have been stolen, from the behavior of the suspects.

Police vehicles rushed to the Dolphin roundabout to intercept the truck. However, before reaching Pattaya beach, the pickup driver then turned his truck into second Pattaya road, going against the flow of the traffic.
