Just went and it was B 4,800 or so roundtrip but I note that prices will go up next month (end of rainy season). But KL itself is a noisy, ugly city. Easy to get outside (a bus ride to Penang takes only about 6 hours and is not expensive). Penang has great restaurants (best food in the world in my opinion with terrific Chinese, Indian and Malay food) and some inexpensive (but old) guest houses. How far from the Air Asia airport to the Thai immigration. I know it is a fair size trip into KL from the airport. It takes around an hour from LCCT to KLSentral by bus. If the op is after 'visa-exempt' he doesn't need one, thus a flight anywhere (with or without consulates) and back will net him another 30 days. Agreed on KL, dead city. Someone mentioned Penang (another horrible place), better off flying to Hat Yai and taking a minibus, though you would only get two weeks of course. I used it for my first 90-day run three years ago, and aside from the heat, had a pretty good time. I moved into a cheap hotel in Chinatown and left the A/C running all day. Lots of cheap eats and night bazaar action in the neighborhood, and there's a pleasant upscale crafts market run by the government only a few blocks away. About four or five blocks to the public transit terminal, where you can catch the commuter train out to the airport area. The final leg is on a bus. You can also use the same system when you arrive, and get downtown faster and more comfortably than in the hour-long minivan rides that are touted at the exit. Also cheaper. I have found people in Singapore to be polite and had good experiences there but have no recent experience with the Thai Embassy there.. So, They cheated you on time and were incredibly rude. Is "they" the Thai Embassy staff? How did you get cheated on "time"? Appreciate your response because I would like to keep my Singapore trips pleasant.
