I haven't played oblivion sorry to say ? I was also recommended from a friend of mine what I can say is the graphics are really good on this game with a few tweaks you can find online also has something like over 200 plus quest and you make your own story how you want it to be what's good really to say like some other games also having a habit of doing 10 / 12 hours straight and it can be done trust me and it only feels like you being playing if for an hour or so..

Played both,

Oblivion with all the add-ons, and am currently playing Skyrim but havnt yet downloaded the dawnguard add-on.

The games play pretty much the same, the big difference you will notice is the graphics, especially with the free HD pack downloaded.

I played Oblivion for three years, and it was a great improvement over Morrowind.

Skyrim,l ike oblivion, gives you the choice of following the main storyline, and the many subplots, or just doing your own thing. I havnt had too many bug problems, but then again I didnt have much problem with Oblivion either.

On the whole a very solid game which has improved upon the previous one.

As an aside, which games have I played regularly over the last few years?/

Oblivion

Skyrim

Fallout 3

Fallout new Vegas

Battle Academy

Panzer General

SPWAW (although I have to use a virtual XP box for this one).

regards

Right now I am running an Intel Core i7 2.8ghz, undervolted and slightly overclocked.

I have an Asus EAH 5850 direct CU top Video card which was also in use when playing Oblivion. I am currently looking at upgrading, most probably to

2X SLi ASUS GeForce GTX 660 Ti Direct CU II 2 GB as I am reading good things about these and I see they are already available in Panthip.

cheers

I played oblivion many years ago. I had a lvl 40 ranger before the game went haywire and crashed (don't know why), but I was not happy at all. I used the duplicate cheat, and would sell items numerous times for money and buy better items. Now that I'm located in deep Isaan , far from civilization. I might get back into gaming...... Don't be so shocked to see a girl like me who plays game. I grew up with four older brothers who were hardcore games.

Get a Steam account, buy the Legendary edition and enjoy yourself. Been playing this a lot.

Love it.

You can use your ATM card from your Thai bank, as they are also debit cards. although you might need to enable it for online purchases (I did mine at a Kasikorn bank ATM in about 2 mins).

For myself I've been loving skyrim since I decided that online games weren't really working well because of my Internet.

I have played through quite a bit (almost lvl 50) but there's soooo much content I haven't even touched yet lol. I absolutely love how you're not restricted to a single class too, so can modify your play style etc. Such an awesome game!!

Only criticism I have is that you start dealing too much damage, my first couple of dragons were really exciting/difficult, but the more recent ones are just speedbumps lol.

Edit: although I haven't tried adjusting the difficulty to legendary, maybe I should try that to make it more exciting lol.

I am lvl 52 now playing the Dawnguard DLC. You are right that most dragons just get bitchslapped now. I played heavy armor and 2 handed in the beginning, changed to light armor and one handed to change things a bit. Try playing without a follower. Much more fun, especially playing Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood.

I play on Expert level, I think. Legendary would make it very tough.

When it comes to Steam account and other online purchases, it really is a relief to have a PayPal account hooked to a Thai CC.

Setting up a steam account is fairly simple. http://store.steampowered.com/
