Giant Green Turtle discovered on Jomtien Beach

PATTAYA:--At 7.30 on Friday evening there was some excitement on Jomtien Beach when a Giant Green Turtle was discovered floating dead in the sea in the vicinity of Jomtien Palm Beach Hotel.The discovery was made by 38 year old deck chair attendant Mr. Surusak who used a fishing line to drag the beast onto the beach and then called for assistance from the Swangboriboon rescue service.

The turtle, weighing 17 kilograms was believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, and judging from its condition was estimated to have been dead for about 2 days. The animal appeared to have sustained some injuries to the head,
