Just had a email from emirates they are flying to Phuket from 10th December

"Operated by a three-class Airbus aircraft, EK378 will depart Dubai at 1245hrs and arrive at Phuket International Airport at 2155hrs. The return flight, EK379 will depart at 0035hrs the following day and arrive at Dubai International Airport at 0435hrs"

I just did a search for a price comparison for there bangkok flight and its coming out the same £848 from lon to bkk or lon to phuket return on 17th dec not bad save a lot of hassle for some holidaying in phuket

This was forecast a couple of years ago, when Qatar began flying into Phuket, just leaves Etihad to complete the trio. thumbsup.gif

EK 036 ex Newcastle arrives Dubai 0025

Last LHR flight arrives Dubai 0805

Glasgow arrives 0815

Manchester arrives 0710

With a departure time ex Dubai of 1245 hrs- min layover of 4hr.30mins and max of 12hrs20ins depending on your UK airport of departure.

got an email from Qantas yesterday saying an Emirates and Qantas partnership is pending.....

Etihad already uses the Airberlin codeshare from AUH to HKT. So you wont see them to fly themselfs to HKT very soon.
