Always had a rule - 5 years together before getting married.

Seems to have bode me well.

I did that, shit happened. sad.png

Yes, some of these guys feeling secure in a relationship of 10 years, are gonna get a bit of a shock in another 10 years.

(oh, and after 25 years with my UK wife, I still loved her and didn't see it coming at all!)

A recent post by meatballs...

All looking okay a week back. whistling.gif

I semi-retired here at age 28. I became alcoholic pretty fast. Sleeping with a new girl everyday gave me some really nasty stds. Along the way I found away to make money online(dating) so I could live in SEA permanently. It's been 5 years and I live a fantastic life in Pattaya and SEA. biggrin.png

My advice is be crazy, drink, sleep around and have a blast. You only live once. If all fails, you can start over again(please don't be a jumper).

smells like a troll

whats trollish about it? the advice to live life to the fullest or the caveat against suicide?

i got here at 27 and ive done some pretty mad shit here, and while i couldn't keep it up indefinitely, i wouldn't change much of it. we haven't all arrived with one eye on our own hastily imminent mortality.

EDIT: ah i geddit, mr balls is our sad sack OP. It would seem he has been caught out being less than genuine. for shame. my remark stands though.

perhaps one of his biggest mistakes

For crying out loud, they're enjoying it while it lasts. Whether that's 6 months, 6 years or the rest of their lives.

Surely you must realize how sad and pitiful you both sound sitting there telling any married or committed bloke that his marriage/relationship will all end in tears ?

I wonder if you'd be as cynical and bitter if it had been you doing the dumping in your marriages/relationships.

Apparently Transam and I are right (worldwide) at least 50% of the time (and rising).

I wonder if you'd be as cynical and bitter if it had been you doing the dumping in your marriages/relationships.

Cynicism protects me from ever having that foolish feeling that 'my one is different' (I thought that with my last wife)

Bitter ........ definitely not, I'm a very happy person and have been so for almost all my life (excluding about 6 months).

In fact HS, reading your posts, you are the one that seems unhappy with his life in Thailand, not me.

You also appear to be envious of those of us who are older and financially secure with a nice, younger woman..

Envy is a nasty emotion, and will eat you alive if you let it.

Perhaps some of us have been through shit and now have our eyes fully open. Noooooo disrespect intended but folk who think life is a straight course are wrong, you included.

So what??!! Who hasn't had their fair share of shit? Doesn't mean you should assume that everyone else is going to end up miserable with their hearts and spirits crushed, does it?

Why on earth would I be envious of the likes of you?

My life in Thailand is good. I live comfortably, work 3 or 4 hours a day at home and, unlike you, my women don't pull on my trousers when they wake up. Unlike you, I don't knowingly put myself in situations where I could be seriously inconvenienced by my women.

I run the show and I dictate the tempo - that's how I roll.

I've had painful break ups too but I'm not daft enough to cultivate the type of acerbic, distrustful attitude towards women you have because I accept that I played my part in those break ups.

Accept your shortcomings and your portion of the blame for what happened to you and stop being so angry at them - they're really not all out to get you, mate.

My problem was that in Thailand my wife was quiet and gentle and showed little interest in drinking apart from socially with me and no interest in gambling. Well not in front of me anyway.

Its when i brought her to the UK that the problems started. She got a taste of the local casinos which her new friends in the local Thai Community quickly introduced her too and that was that. She got the bug and didnt stop. She turned into a nutter over night or maybe she was always one and was just a good actress before she got her visa ?

And yet your anger clearly shows in your posts.

I'm not angry at anyone, but I do feel a bit sorry for you.

Not so clear to me.

Please explain how, exactly, my "anger" so clearly shows in my posts.
