"your Daily New Topics Digest‏" Email Carries Broken Urls

Featured Replies

The feature/process that allows a daily topics digest email to be sent to you with the URL of new topics from sub-forums you monitor produces URLs presented in the email that are malformed.

As an example this morning I got a email notification with links for new threads in the Pets sub-forum.

The two URLS were as follows:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?topic/582908-pup-eating-bras-and-panties/'>http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?topic/582908-pup-eating-bras-and-panties/

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?forum/81-plants-pets-vets-in-thailand/'>http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?forum/81-plants-pets-vets-in-thailand/

Both these links will simply dump you at: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/

The correct URLs respectively should be:

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/582908-pup-eating-bras-and-panties/

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/forum/81-plants-pets-vets-in-thailand/

I suggest the fault is within the Apache script by the person that coded the server side search function, there is an easy cure offered ressionengine.com/wiki/Remove_index.php_From_URLs/'>here.

I'm replying to your topic because I think at least one of us deserves a reply.

My virtually identical topic, here: http://www.thaivisa....t/#entry5645515 , was started about 8 hours before yours and has zero responses. Perhaps you could reply to mine? rolleyes.gif

We only now verified the issue and bug confirmed and forwarded to software vendor.

Thanks Tywais. Sorry for the late reply - when I clicked on the link in the notification email, I got sent to the wrong place. biggrin.png
