[Myanmar] Tbbc Visits Rangoon To Explore Future Role

The Thai-Burma Border Consortium held four days of talks in Rangoon last week with government advisers, civil society groups and international community representatives, according to a  press statement released on Monday. The group, which has overseen efforts to provide for refugees based along the Thai-Burmese border for the past 28 years, said that it is considering opening an office in Burma to assist with the repatriation of refugees. It noted, however, that the government-led peace process remains fragile and that it is “too soon to be promoting the return of displaced persons.â€
