Refused 90 Day Renewal Visa?

Featured Replies

Called in at the Bangkok Immigration Office this afternoon to get a 90 day extension on my VISA only to be refused. I've had a Non-Immigrant O VISA for 2 years now. Renewed once in my home country after the 1st year.

Before now I have used the VISA renewal as a travel opportunity so generally renew at Suvarnabhumi. This was my 1st time renewing in Bangkok. What I was told by the immigration officer was the VISA was issued in my home country and isn't valid in Bangkok?? At least this is what I think she meant. Very confused at the time and just left it at that so I wouldn't be the ass holding up the VISA queue.

I wasn't wholly there for my VISA renewal anyway but for researching the process for info on my site (as below). Now I am just a bit clueless about it all... I now have 2 days to leave the country so no time to plan anything exciting and more than likely bussing to Laos.

You must exit Thailand and return for a new 90 day entry on a multi entry non immigrant O visa (which appears to be what you have done in the past). A visa is for entry into Thailand - Immigration can extend such an entry if you qualify but can not stamp a new 90 day entry without your arrival from another country.

That site is complete misinformation. It is talking about reporting of stay after 90 day and not about visas. I suggest you read the information on this site in the visa forum. I repeat;. THat site is nothing to do with visas.

Absolutley correct, you must leave the country every 90 days if you are on a Non O visa and you will be given 90 more days leave to stay when you re enter.

It's possible you are now on a overstay so I would make plans to leave ASAP, there a a few companies that do one day visa runs in BKK to Cambodia, a quick Google search will throw these up

...It's possible you are now on a overstay...

The OP wrote on Wednesday "I now have 2 days to leave the country" which I take to mean that his current permission to stay runs out on Friday and he apparently knows now what he needs to do.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
