Civil Defence Volunteer caught selling drugs in North Pattaya

PATTAYA:--A civil defence volunteer was caught with illegal drugs during an undercover Police operation on Pattaya Third Road early on Wednesday morning.

Officers arrested Khun Luckchai aged 35 and seized his modified Red Toyota Corona. The car and the suspect were subjected to a search which uncovered 25 Yabba Tablets and 2.11g of Crystal Methamphetamine. A later search of his rented room uncovered only drug taking paraphernalia and a deck of cards.

The man was confirmed as a member of the Civil Defence Volunteer unit, known in Thai as “O-Po-Po-Lor”. He had been working with them for 2 years and confessed to selling drugs for 6 months. Also detained was his girlfriend, Khun Puangpagar aged 19 who was charged with the lesser offence of consumption of a class 1 drug.
