Hello all. I am sure there will be someone here that will be able to advise me. My situation is this.

I had previously been granted a non O single entry for 3 Months. My wife is Thai.

That has since expired, so I have applied for and now received, this week, via the Embassy in Singapore, a non O multiple entry 12 Month Visa.

When entering yesterday my passport and white card TM.6 was stamped for 3 Months (until 18 December). I didn't catch this until after passport control. My questions are what may be the next steps?

Do I need to do anything now, or do I need an extension? I would have thought 12 Month multiple entry means just that.

I will receive an employment contract shortly and aply for WP. I do travel reasonably frequently.

Advice appreciated.

Thanks

The multiple non-O means that it is a visa valid for 1 year. During that year you can travel to Thailand as many times as you want, each time you enter you get a permission to stay of 90 days. Then you have to leave the country and can coe back in for another 90 days as long as the visa is still valid. But leaving and re-entering just before the visa itself expires, you get another 90 days and so almost 15 months out of it.

During the last 30 days of any permisison to stay you can apply for a 1 year extension of stay at immigraiton if you cna show 400,000 baht in a bankaccount in Thailand in your name for at least 2 months OR show an income of 40,000 baht a month (can be from abroad and must be certified by your embassy in that case).

Thank you Mario. Most appreciated. I thought I read somewhere that under this Visa, 3 Month reporting of address was only required?

90 day reporting is only required if you stay for 90 days in a row in Thailand. On a visa entry you do not stay 90 days as you leave on day 90.

Not untill you are on an extension of stay do you need to do 90 day reports, the first extension of stay being your first 90 day report so you make one 90 days after. All other extensions are NOT considered 90 day reports, you must report next to doing an extension of stay.
