Renew Marriage Visa Documents Requirement

Featured Replies

my marriage visa are expire in october , anyone know what documents need to submit?

my bank have 400k for 2 months only until today.

If you are talking about 12 month extensions it will be the same as last year assuming you already have one.

A Rough Guide.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

Letter from your Thai Bank showing balance and up to date bank book.

OR.

Letter from your Embassy showing income. Now may also need proof of income as back up.

Marriage Certificate

Marriage Registry entry.

Wife's Tabbien Baan and ID Card.

Your Passport.

Copies of everything.

Photos of you and your Wife in and around the house.

A map showing the way to your house.

Passport size photos and 1,900 Baht fee.

Take your Wife to be interviewed.

One or two witnesses may be required.

You will be given a 30 day under consideration stamp.

Go back in a month and get the remainder.

2 months is enough based on marriage.

Other documents are to proof your relationship with your wife:

- passport

- wife's ID card

- wife

- wife's household registration

- marriage certificate

- khor rhor 2 form (entery in marriage register, get new one from amphur)

- map to house

- bankbook (updated)

- bank letter

- pictues of you and your wife together in and around the house, 1 with housenumber clearly visible

- passport photo

(plus 2 photocopies of everything).

If you do not bring them they might visit your home and interview you and/or your neighburs there.

Best is to first call your immigraiton office and see what documents they require.

The witness thing is only done at a few immigration offices. Check with them to see if it is needed at your immigration offices.

Since this is your 2nd extension they probably won't be as finicky as they can be on the first one.

Do any one know after how many years they will issue straight 1 year visa extension? This is my 2nd year and they give 30 days consideration period again. i will get extra 11 next month.

Unless they change policy it will be forever that you have the 30 day under consideration period.

The 30 days does not start until the date your extension runs out. IE: If you go 10 days early you will have to wait 40 days.

Well, not in my case. My visa expire on 27 sept normally, i visit them 4 september. They gave me extension until 4 october and told me to come again for rest of extension. Next year i will go only a few days earlier.

All the above...plus you say your money (400K) has been in the bank 2 months...Correct me all if I am wrong but I belive on the one year renewal the 400k needs to be in the back 3 months.

For Non-O extension for Marriage 1st and subsequent extensions money in bank for 2 months.

For Non-O extension due to Retirement money in bank for 2 months 1st extension and 3 months for subsequent extensions.
