Rimmer Posted September 22, 2012 Share Posted September 22, 2012 Iranian & Algerian Hotel Burglary Gang arrested by Pattaya Police PATTAYA:--A group of four foreign nationals accused of multiple break-ins at Hotel rooms around Pattaya have been arrested. A press conference was held at Pattaya Police Station on Saturday Morning by Police Colonel Tamanoon to announce the arrest of one Iranian former Soldier and owner of a Travel Agency in Pattaya along with three Algerians. The Colonel explained that the group was led by Mr. Kojr Qader Salih Salih aged 42, the former Soldier who has lived in Pattaya for 12 years and speaks fluent Thai. He led the team of four men who would use fake passports to check-in at hotels. They would then identify rooms occupied by foreign nationals. Using a credit card, they would be able to open room safes and remove valuables which would then be sold on and the proceeds would be split between the men. The investigation was prompted by many complaints from local Hoteliers who confirmed a gang of middle-eastern men were involved. The first to be tracked down and arrested was the gang leader Mr. Salih who provided Police with information of the whereabouts of the other three men. I wonder what will happen to the travel agency owner who speaks fluent sh!te..? Probably still in business next week under a new name as he volunteered the names of the others to the BIB... gaucho Posted September 23, 2012 Share Posted September 23, 2012 this has been going on for years ......remember at least 12 years ago aussie night manager murdered by middle eastern gang at the orchid ?hotel in soi bongkot if memory serves me correct ...its an old scam ...saw it in bangkok at the nana plaza hotel they got caught ...just book into a room get a key done check out and hang around lobby ..easy to see the key in the box ring room from the foyer to verify no one there and then voila ..in and out in 3 mins with the accomplice down stairs to ring on mobile if the guest returns to hotel ...also saw a korean gang caught in manila same modus operandi at the cherry blossoms hotel Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Can that be done? I am aware that in some hotels you can use your credit card to open your room safe if there is a charge.
