are you really one to speak out about reincarnated members buchlolz?

At least most of us know who he was, and you are/were?

i don't know who he was.

and you are/were?

Yes you do, by your inference it is pretty obvious that you do, don't lie, or has that become second nature now?

I am and I remain the same person.

So you had made up your own mind beforehand, fair enough, you may be influenced by newspaper articles, but you're not the one fighting on the street are you?

Your point that this division and hatred towards each other is caused by people who have deep pockets and are very good at misleading people is a good one, but don't just apply that thought towards the one man. Who do you think controls the newspapers and the television channels? Could they be the very people who have a vested interest in the status quo wrt "democracy". How do you think Sondhi despite 5 jail sentences, one very serious, for fraud, of 20 years is still walking around free? Why the immense campaign against a rewritten constitution that would restore Rule of Law instead of Rule by Law? Status Quo anybody? Thaksin is a convenient hate figure to distract attention whilst everybody else in the old amart jockey for position.

You know it's a funny thing, but just like Nickymaster, I thought I smelled PPD too.

No one, not even Sondhi, comes close to Thaksin in stirring up a mob - almost always for his own monetary benefit. As far as the 'amart' is concerned a line for a Who track is appropriate: '..... the new boss, same as the old boss'

The objection to a new or re-written constitution is that many don't trust the PTP as they only want to amend the parts that don't benefit them directly. By the way, there is not much wrong with the current constitution.

Concur on the strong smell. It's certainly distinct.

Also concur that Chalerm's solution of "not allowing" a second group to the same area as the first group

is no solution.

Not unless the police decide to do that which they have failed to do over the last several years. It still could easily prompt the sit-in by a few shirts days in advance in order to be considered that first group in a compound.

(btw, it's strange that one would somehow consider that process as different than a first-come, first-served system.)

You're right about the constitution as well. It's always been vague whenever the query goes out to what exactly the Reds want to change. We'll find out soon enough though, because, as directed by the Montenegrin in charge, that will be the tactic now for the Pheu Thai Party.

.

You are a really childish. Grow up man.

Nice try to blame the newspapers. No newspaper is 100% neutral, we all know that, therefore own judgment is key.

Fact is that all this division and hatred towards each other is caused by people who have deep pockets and are very good at misleading people for their own benefit.

Do I smell ppd? ermm.gif

Lets start again . I maintain that the newspapers are deliberately manipulating facts to keep the old divisions going and provide a sample above. I try and be polite by suggesting that you are too western to fall for it and then you go and disprove that by coming out with the same stale old "facts" that you have obviously gleaned from the Nation amongst other similar sources.

My posts are targeted at people with some knowledge of the world around them and some understanding of the issues they address.
Best for you if you just put me on ignore.

Just because I don't fall for your crap I am too western without knowledge of the world around me?

Only information I will reveal is that I have been living in Thailand for 35 years and my family is Asian.

I don't have an Isan girlfriend so therefore I might not enjoy the luxury of having accurate information on the current political situation………

Why do people persist in going on about how long they've lived in Thailand as a way of qualifying their viewpoints? It's so tedious - not just you, but loads of others too.

Lest we forget, those responsible for this mess - on all sides - have lived in Thailand all their lives, have families that go back generations in the country, know Thai culture better than any foreigner and may or may not be married with people form Issan. And you think that tending towards their experience gives you a clearer picture of the Truth or The Way Ahead?

Thai people are divided on political issues. It is hardly surprising that those looking in are too.

Remember, i don't support red, yellow, TS, Sondhi etc etc etc.

Why the immense campaign against a rewritten constitution that would restore Rule of Law instead of Rule by Law? whitewashing criminals = restoring rule of law cheesy.gif

I have seen enough about the coward to have my own judgment. Atleast Sondhi is still in Thailand and not instigating violence from abroad.

Fact is that the crook wants it ALL. It's either winning or losing in his narcissistic mind.

It must hurt to see your hero suffering but justice WILL prevail.

Are you from Zimbabwe?

Its a weak tactic to use thaksin as the hate figure to distract unknowledgable forum viewers from some of the real issues of 'rewriting the constitution. Why not concentrate on the prepetrators of the last coup who rewrote the constitution to absolve themselves of treason. A crime punishable by death

The new constitution needs to retrospectively charge perpetrators of coups. If this was possible we may get to the bottom of who orders these coups because it is not the army doing good deeds for the country who take it on themselves to leave the barracks

Took a while to find this decent relevant post, amongst the to-ing and for-ing between certain past and present (allegedly) posters. Surprised the mods didn't take it on board to tidy the thread up.

Anyway.

I think there would be general consensus that for every Red 'criminal' one can assume a Yellow 'criminal' will share the same fate - ie nothing.

It is the Constitution issue I find interesting, particularly your subtle "Rule of Law instead of Rule by Law"

My understanding is that the ruling party want to re-write the laws so they can do what they want unhindered. Whatever is achieved will surely end up as 'Rule by Law', because once the law is in place it (theoretically) becomes a check against Governments going on their merry way regardless.

The ruling party, with its majority and apparent contempt for the workings of a parliamentary Democracy, is seeking to allow their policies to be unopposed by taking away the check mechanism.

Is this not a dangerous situation?

It's possible to fall into the rhetoric of "democratically elected so able to implement changes that they want", but surely there's more to it than this.

I'm raising what I consider are some important issues, so I would welcome some input/clarification regarding what you meant in your post.

You appear to have decided that the 'perpetrators' are the Government of the day, if you don't accept that the military can independently identify what they consider to be a major threat to the stability of Thailand.

Otherwise, who else can be the perpetrators?

The political situation was identified as requiring a fix, whether the method was right or wrong is not going to be agreed on.

However, until the ruling party came up with the master plan of benefitting themselves, the country seemed to be muddling along.

I have asked before, and am not convinced I got an answer, "what is the current constitution stopping the Government from achieving?

So far it seems to be stopping changes to the Constitution, which may also be preventing open conflict. Changing the Constitution to "we'll they did it so we can" doesn't seem beneficial to a peaceful, stable, Thailand.

Back to the playground it seems, as in so many of the ruling party's actions

Tuesday's clash occurred at the Crime Suppression Division headquarters when hundreds of members of the rival groups gathered for a summons hearing of schoolteacher Manassanan Nookham, who faces a defamation lawsuit filed by red-shirt leader Darunee Kritboonyalai.

The defendant, Manassanan, submitted this video today:
