Visa App For Wife, Strange Problem, No Dob For Parents

Featured Replies

Hi All

doing a visa application for my wife to the UK..(online)

there is a section to fill in for her parents details

her parents only know there year of birth .. most odd lol .. even there ID cards only show the year and DD/MM is blank..

being told old people , old system .. and it was ok then ..

any idea anyone ??

I had the same problem for the father in law. There is a bit that tells you to enter a date stated if you don't know, its something like 1st Jan 1900.

Not at all strange for older Thais. If the box has to be filled in an estimate will do but clarify this is the case in writing. When someone gets to naturalisation and applies for a passport one of the standard questions to check ID is mother and fathers place and date of birth. Get this 'wrong' and you may have to re-apply for the passport (and pay again!). My mother in law uses the Queens birthday!

If it allows you can put 'Not Recorded' as this is the real case!

While I posted this someone has given a better answer for that application form! Just remember what you put down!

If you click on the help button beside the DOB box (or thereabouts) it will tell you what to enter in the case of unknown date.
