butterisbetter
I keep on getting the same problem with my router. After maybe using it for 5-10 links I get a message that it can't find DNS of whatever site I'm linking to. If I unplug the router and then plug it back in again, it will work for another 5-10 links and then once again will tell me it can't find DNS. Any ideas of why this may be happening? noob7
Are you sure, it's the router, not a unstable connection? Wifi or LAN? How about, if you try to refresh the page, you are already on? Same result? Is it the router, that came with the line? Get a second router and check it out! And maybe change the DNS-server to google Google Public DNS IP addresses The Google Public DNS IP addresses (IPv4) are as follows: 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 The Google Public DNS IPv6 addresses are as follows: 2001:4860:4860::8888 2001:4860:4860::8844 You can use either number as your primary or secondary DNS server. You can specify both numbers, but do not specify one number as both primary and secondary. You can configure Google Public DNS addresses for either IPv4 or IPv6 connections, or both.

butterisbetter
Running any torrent client? Yes. The odd thing is that the torrents will keep downloading even though I can't link to any http websites.

Actually, I have a computer connected by Lan and by wifi to the same router and both experience the same problem. If I try to refresh the page, it's the same result. Can't connect to it. This is the original router configured by my internet provider.

butterisbetter
Shutdown the torrent client, restart the router and try again. Router is Zyxel? Shutdown the torrent client, restart the router and try again. Router is Zyxel? Right now, I'm not at home. I don't know what the router brand is. If I do shut down the torrent client and restart the router, can I restart the client once the router is up and running. Will using a VPN help? noob7
Shutdown the torrent client, restart the router and try again. Router is Zyxel? If that works, limit the torrent connections! How about 'local' websites? Your internet, is it 'premier' or 'indy'? You're the only user? (switch off the wifi)
Gregory Morozov
If that works, restarting the torrent client will create the problem again. Best solution - change the router. Limiting the number of torrent connections will work but torrent downloads will suck. VPN will work as it will technically encapsulate all connections into one. Chicog
As suggested in post #2, you might want to consider using a more responsive DNS server....
noob7
Actually, I do use utorrent as client. And besides, that I got 124 Gig download, this month, on a 3BB 900 Baht line, already, the 'normal surfing' is and was ok. Maybe limiting the torrent upload to max <=5kB can help, too. I do not limit the torrent download speed, sometimes it's amazing 15000k/bits. This way, I found out, 3BB upgraded my package, again! oh: and I'm on 8.8.8.8, with the DNS
Gregory Morozov
Hmm, so that worked with this router before, right?
noob7
If that works, restarting the torrent client will create the problem again. That would make things a lot easier, 'cause he would know, that the torrent thing is the problem! So we should wait, what the OP can report. butterisbetter
I limited my downloads on utorrent to just 2. And now everything works okay. For what it's worth, my router is a Belkin. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.
