Hi, I lived in Thailand for 2 years. i returned October 2011. I have been successful at a job interview but I will not get formally offered the job until they get a Police Check from Thailand. After trying for several days, I was told by the Police Clearance Service in Bangkok to send a copy of my passport to them. They told me there was no charge, and I tried to ask several times if they needed anything else, but told me that was it. I did as asked and sent the copy of my passport with a cover letter and SAE. This was almost 4 weeks ago. I asked a friend in Thailand to call the service and ask what the status is, I was told that they didn't have all the documents they need, however, I still don't know what else I need to send them in order to get the police certificate. Obviously getting a job here in the UK is so difficult, I was lucky enough to be offered this one, but now I am terrified I won't get it because the wait will be too long. I have looked on various websites and also contacted various British and Thai embassies, but I am getting nowhere and now completely stressed out. If anyone can tell me EXACTLY what I need to send and not just a website to visit or a phone number to try, please please please let me know. Thank you for your help.

Thank you. I was wondering if the fingerprints was the issue actually. But I was thinking that maybe I would need to visit a thai embassy to get that done? Do you know if I have to do that? The website you cited I have looked at but it's in thai and when I translate it through google translate or any other, it's making no sense to me. All this for a council job!! Thank you for your response.

Thanks to those of you that responded with good informtion to the OP. I now have a Thai Police Clearance Certificate which is essential for many jobs here in the UK.

For anyone who searches for similar information in future:- use the PCSC link in Mario's post and once you have the forms it is straight forward. Fingerprints here in the UK will set you back £95 and you cannot get postage paid vouchers here so will have to organise a courier account or send the money. Certification of copies is simple just date and sign them yourself. If you don't have any residency letters then just send anything you have such as receipts, lease agreements, bank books etc to prove you were living in Thailand. The whole process takes 3 weeks and the Police are really helpful when you phone them.

Hope this helps you.
