Tax And Insurance

Hi

Just bought a 2nd hand scooter from a friend and need to know what I need to make it legaLly roadworthy please?

Not sure of thai laws with regards tax and insurance.

If it has greenbook, plates, basic insurance and the tax is paid, than it should be legal for the road.

You should have:

- greenbook

- tax-sticker (may be on the bike)

- insurance voucher (usually a small piece of paper with insurance data)

Look at the dates on this papers to make sure that everything is still valid.

And you should have a driving license of course

And remember the standard Government insurance is not worth the paper it's written on - get a minimum of 3rd Class voluntary insurance !

I'm sorry but it is worth the paper it is written on. What do you expect for around 200 baht ? it provides the rider with the minimum 3rd class insurance to ride the bike on the road. It is what 90%or more of scooter riders have. If you have a big bike and want first class insurance you are looking at 15- 20,000 Baht.
