Three U.S. ex-presidents denounce the current one in a two-week stretch
If I didn't read it with my own eyes I wouldn't believe anyone could be so incompetent at reading and understanding how the SS trust investing in US treasury bills actually works. -

Just curious: it's possible to come back to Thailand on exemption using the safe entry more than one time? -

Water Damaged Condo - Buy it?
Nothing else is going on. It's a corporation that is free to cut their losses as opposed to silly private parties that overpay, mortgage, etc It's a fair price with the issues but condos are easily 30% overvalued and so they sit often for years. The condo also has incongruent walls, some other oddball things. No one will pay market rate per sqm for it. The building is simple, standard. 67sqm is not a small condo in central BKK. Usable space interior probably 57 We would still need to clear the title. The admin says it's only been owned by this one corporation that manages a number of this branded units. I've decided against the purchase. We were looking at the unit and the rain came. There were issues. The north side windows lovely but totally exposed. Rains came down on the windows. We asked prior and admin says we cannot put an awning only some lame 6 in aluminum strip. The renovation cheap between 200-275k and included some serious work. So...2.5M finished. Thank you to those who took the time to reply thoughtfully. 🙏 If mod reads this can close thread. -

Economy Thailand Faces Economic Challenges as Thousands of Businesses Close
How many same kind small businesses are here?? Coffee shops?? Uncountable, mom and pop shops same, Restaurants with the same menus, you don't need to go far in Thailand... No wonder if everybody copy eachother and when they open they have many times a good business, but after a few months they start to use less quality product, raise prices, minimalize portions, less service or name it and a few months later they are gone.. I always say Thailand is a hub of destroying their own businesses by greed and mismangement. -

What happens with money in the bank when the farang dies?
Thanks, @omegaman, for the very comprehensive answer! My question was really only concerning the money that is tied up in Thailand because of the EOS financial requirements, but I appreciate your taking the time to draw the big picture. Lots of stuff to think about! You refer to, "she has access to the account." I assume that is an arrangement I have to make with the bank, so that my wife, who is not a joint owner (and cannot be because of the financial requirement restrictions) can have access to the funds. How does one refer to that type of arrangement (and if you know the Thai equivalent that would be even better)? When I go to the bank I'd like to be able to tell them exactly what I want. Thanks!
