whybother Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I think its fair to say that if abisit had held a real rank in a real army, he would be facing real court martial charges by now. What would he be facing a court martial for?
animatic Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) How do you even get a rank for national service? Well traditionally at military schools they prefer the teachers to have enough rank to out rank the students, since this automatically ensures better discipline. So someone of sufficient skills to be a teacher are promoted for this reason. Just like Officer Candidate School puts out rafts of Second Lui's with minimal on the ground training, but lots of tactical/strategic knowledge. Edited October 16, 2012 by animatic
Noistar Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 So lets assume abhisit is stripped of his rank....will anything change? The reds commentators may feel smug, but in the bigger picture this will have no effect whatsoever, other than promoting reconciliation (aka getting back at your enemies) I like the idea of forcing everybody to be 'reconciled'. Let's force people to be happy while we're at it. Or force Thai drivers to obey the rules (are there any?) of the road. No wonder the ruling party are in such a rush to get the bill through. Utopia awaits. Even Abhisit will be able to contain his grief if the military do what the children, sorry, I mean "ruling party Senior politicians", want. LOS awaits - everybody happy? Maybe not
