Is It Possible To Get A Multi Non B In Japan?

Featured Replies

A US firend of mine as just finished his university studying here in Thailand and is looking to stay on here.

Is it possible for him to get a multi Non B in Japan, has anyone heard of this? (the type you must leave every 3 month and if well planned can get 15 months out of it).

I've searched on the forum but cannot find any news about Japan, I know it's nearly impossible in other asian countries in the region...

In year gone by I've got one in Australia, but I don't think I've ever read anything about Japan.

This is going back to 2010 but I found the embassy in Tokyo to be difficult to help even with a tourist visa. I ended up coming back getting a 30 day visa waiver then heading off to Melbourne to get a double entry tourist visa. Melbourne has always been very helpful, fast and efficient. Tokyo embassy may have changed since 2010 but I found it less helpful than Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Ho Chi Minh City, Lao and Singapore. Just my experience, sorry I can't offer more positive news.

Do not believe any Consulate in Japan would issue such a visa unless to a resident of Japan.

The Japanese Embassy in the USA is great to work with. I may behove your friendab to fly back to the U.S.A. and get it done there. The nice thing about seeking visa entrys on on American soil as an American is like the Thai Consulate, the Japanese Embassy is great to work with there; they will not screw you one bit there. And of course, the Dipolmatic ties are super strong.coffee1.gif

Why would you go to the Japanese Embassy in any country to get a visa of any kind for Thailand. Have I missed something?

wayned: Its my understanding his friend is seeking a visa for Japan..not for Thailand; .unless I read it wrong.

IF your friend is looking for a 1 YEAR NON IMMIGRANT "O" MULTIPLE ENTRY, IT IS 200 BUCKS IN THE STATES.

and what they want to see is A BANK ACCOUNT with money in it of course...The best banks are either Bangkok Bank which is an International Branch in New York or Kaiskorn Bank here which has an International Branch office in Los Angeles.

I don't know what a Visa Service here in Thailand, but its got to be more than 6000 Baht which is what $200 bucks U.S. equates too. Plus its a good reason to take a trip back home and scarf up and pig out on the food you cannot get here.

If you don't have a bank account here which your fri end should have, they will take ownership of a condo as well.

I am not sure about the Non B, but I would bet dollars to donuts its more expensive here to get than it would be in the States.

Such a visa costs 5,000 baht but it is not going to be issued anywhere without paperwork and it appears OP has none.

Tell your friend to check with Hongkong. They will tell him, via mail, if the papers he can show, are the papers, he has to have.

He has papers, qualifying for a Non-B, right?giggle.gif

I received a double entry toursit visa in Japan at the Thai Consulate in Tokyo, I'm Australian but that was back 7 years.

As said before, I've received a 'one year Non-B multiple entry' before, actually two over the years. The paperwork require is not that hard to obtain, my first time I receive it from Sunbelt. You don't need any money in the bank, you will have to leave the country every 90 days or less.

So my question was, does anyone know if the Thai Consulate in Japan issues them?

Thanks for your help so far.

Thai Consulate Tokyo regarding Category 'B' Visas:- http://www.thaiembas...:visa&Itemid=62

Looks like they will only issue a 90 Day Single Entry and require a letter of reference from a Japanese Employer.

Have read previously that Tokyo are very tough to deal with.

Chances of getting even a 90 day Single Entry Non Immigarnt Category 'B' without the correct paper work in SE Asia are now near zero.

Correct paperwork is as follows: http://www.mfa.go.th...siness-and.html
