Maid Near Nimman

I live by Canal road about 2 minutes north of Huai Kaeo Rd. I am looking for a maid to come by weekly to clean my bathrooms, change bedding, sweep and mop all floors and clean the kitchen. I have a 2 bed, 3 bathroom place. In all I expect this to take about 4 hours. I would like them to also do minor touching up of the place when it is obvious (like getting bugs off the ceiling).

I would like them to have their own transportation.

I am looking to pay 400 baht a time for this.

I do *not* want someone that is the full time employee of someone to come. When that is the case the maid has no incentive to work hard. When this is the case the maid always does a horrible job (which makes sense since it is in their interest to try to actively lose the new "job").

If anyone can suggest such a person let me know. I can also have my friend who speaks Thai help get it set up so it is not needed that this person can speak English.

Best of luck. Over the years I have had lots of problems with house cleaners. If you find a good honest one then hold on to her. Oh ... and 400 baht for 4 hours once a week is not going to attract a quality maid.

I had a good one in Phuket for that price and she was really good quality.

IMO 400 Baht for 4 hours of work is way over the norm. We have used people at odd ocations, I think my wife paid 250 for one day.

When we lived in the city my wife hired our neighbours maid. She would come to our house on her day off. My wife paid her the price she asked. 500 bahts for 8 hours. Her work ethic was excellent.

IMO 400 Baht for 4 hours of work is way over the norm. We have used people at odd ocations, I think my wife paid 250 for one day.

250-300 for half day is about the norm in Chiang Mai. As for quality of work, you could pay 1000 Baht for half day and still get a bad job. All comes down to the individual worker.

Hey eyecatcher how can you tell someone else how they should spend their own hard earned money. I hate house work and I'd prefer to pay someone else to clean my place. Not only that but my time is worth a lot more than 100 baht an hour - I could make more money spending my time doing something more productive.

Too much work, not enough time. I employ a good worker and she takes about an hour to properly clean one bathroom.

Constant explosions from the incessant firework displays at 700 Year, along with real explosions from the Mae Rim military base, and helicopter traffic make for a real "Apocolypse Now" living experience....

Going price here is about 200-300 B for a once a week or so total cleaning.

The service staff in my bldg do a small apt for 200.

I do it all myself, with my own cleaning products as I don't trust anyone to not go overboard with toxic <deleted> like insecticides, mixing certain cleaning products with others that can produce interesting reactions, etc.

I'd jump t the possibility of a maid at the alleged 'going price' of 200-300. I have a very mediocre one now at 350 for a few hours but hanging on because I don't have an alternative one.

I pay our cleaning woman 350 b. We have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms , living room and western style kitchen. She does a total cleaning in about 5 houres, once a month 6 when she does the windows. We are both satisfied.

Hate to hurt your feelings but not every one is concerned about 400 baht. There are people here in Chiang Mai who would rather pay 400 baht for a maid than drink and whore around. For all you know the guy is working 80 hours a week and bringing in 10,000 baht a day.

Just think about it 400 baht a week for 4 hours work.

You could sub it out and pocket 100 baht a week

If anyone is interested, I know of a great housekeeper. Her fee is 100 baht per hour, minimum 3 hours. She has her own transportation and is available for one time cleaning or weekly. She has worked as a nanny and housekeeper for a long time and does a great job, your own Mary Poppins. If you have a larger home and need it done more quickly, she has other helpers who can work with her to speed things along. If you live more than 20 minutes outside Chiang Mai, there will be a slightly higher fee per hour. If interested send me a PM and she will contact you to schedule an estimate.

I had already figured that out that is why put the sub the job out at a 100 baht profit. And if the legs are nice enough you could supervise.

Hey guys just an update. I went with Ridewing's suggestion and she did a really great job! She also only took 3 hours to do it. She was super friendly, spoke English reasonably well and didn't have to ask me what to do all the time. She also had her own transportation. So if anyone else is looking for a quality maid then this is your chance

It's OK to talk about how difficult it is to find a reliable maid or service staff.

It's OK to mention how happy you are with your maid or service staff, and give a glowing review.

I am sure the above lady is wonderful, and does a great job at a fair price.

But offering up on the forum her services, to try to help her get more work, is verboten.

It's not a money/sponsor issue, it is a posting things that belong in classified ads issue.
