Once The Non-B Visa Expires Need To Stay In Thailand For One More Month

Featured Replies

Hello!

My Non-B visa will expire on the 23rd Jan and I will need to stay in Thailand for one more month for a training course (non-prefessional) so I will need 30 days more. My nationality is Turkish, so normally I can stay in Thailand without a visa up to 30 days if I enter the country via airport. So, would it be OK if I just go to Maleysia for a day and then come back in to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport to be able to stay 30 days more? or do I need to get a tourist visa? Thanks!!

That will work if you only need 30 day or less.

You can even come back the same day. As long as you enter by air you will get 30 days.

As an FYI, depending on your circumstances & locations ... You can get a 7-day extension pretty much on any stay (except another extension) at the immigration for 1,900 baht. You can do a land crossing and get a 15-day stay. So, if you are close to a border you can just do a couple land crossings or mix of land crossing and extensions. When you leave via the airport you should be OK if you are within a day of the date stamped in your passport but if more than a day then you will need to pay 500 baht a day for each day you overstayed up to a maximum of 20,000 baht. Over staying will not be held against you at the airport or border crossing but will usually add about 10 to 15-minutes to the process through immigration on your way out.

Edit: To be clear,I am not sure on Turkish residents but assume you get the same 15 or 30 days as most other countries.
