Michelin Pilot Sporty For Cbr 150 In Pattaya

I found an auto tire dealership in Pattaya that stocks or will order Michelin Pilot Sporty tires. The shop sign is in Thai, I translate it as Pattaya Gan Yang, 2km north of the Sukumvitt- Pattaya Nua intersection. The guy that helped me was Gob, good guy, good english and didn't even ask for a deposit, to order the tires. He advise me to use a 90/80-17 on the front and use a stock 100/80 on the rear. I went with his recommendation and he told me he could have the front (90/80) in the moring but the rear woukld be maybe one week. OK, thats the best I could find here in Pattaya, so I agreed.

Khun Gob called me this morning and I drove to the shop.

I was really impressed with the service and workmanship and attention to detail.

Front tire was 1,300 installed and balanced

Rear tire was quoted at 1,500.

I'm pleased with the price, especially since one shop quoted me 5,000...

I think I saw this shop mentioned on another thread, and was identified as the Maxix Tire Shop. They do sell Maxis tires, but I never saw Maxix on the main sign.

That's really useful. I've been trying to get some Pilot Sportys for ages but no one seems to have them in Pattaya, I was quoted 3,800 for a pair of Dun;op TT900s.

I got my Michelin Pilot Sportys today. Great service from this shop. I called in about 10.30 am, by 12.30 he had sourced the tyres and by 2.00 pm they were fitted for 2,600 baht. For once i am really impressed with thai service. BTW the shop is exactly 2 kms north of Pattaya Nua on the left.

This is the same shop I bought my Michelin Pilot Sporty's for my Nouvo Elegance. The tires are an excellent upgrade from the stock IRC's and I agree with the others here about the excellent service from this shop and Gob. 2 kilometers north of Pattaya Nua on the West side of Sukumvitt seems about right. It's 150 meters just before you drive under the overhead pedestrian bridge that crosses Sukumvitt. There is a Maxxis sign over the shop.

Jack you are right about the Maxxis sign, its HUGE but on the very top of the building. I was looking at the street level sign.

I just called Khun Gob and changed my order to a 110/80-17 . He called me back 5 minutes later and said no more 110/80-17 until next year. The Michelin 100/80-17 is a front tire so, hmmm, back to the drawing board...

FWIW, I checked the date code (3012) of the Michelin Pilot Sporty I bought from Khun Gob. So the manufacture date was around July 29, 2012; I purchased the tire on October 19, so it was pretty fresh.

The date code of the rear -and cracked- IRC OEM tire is 4909, so it was manufactured around December 6, 2009. I'm suprised that a tire less than three years old would become so brittle but maybne thats normal...

The Pilot has Landed!

Got the 110/80-17 Michelin Pilot Sporty from Khun Piroj in BB, 60 baht delivered Mounted and spin balanced at Khun Gob's Pattaya Gan Yang (Maxxis) tire shop on Sukumvit and I'm good to go!

Are they tubeless as the stock tires on the sx?
