Hello,

Does anyone know where I could purchase a metal detector in Chiang Mai, or anywhere in Thailand?

Specifically I am looking for a GPX5000

Saw on here before that a member had one but he is no longer active on the forum.

Interesting site. But - GPX-5000 203,000 Baht!

I built my own, very basic model more for fun and proof of concept though than practical.

think i know why, its a specific gold detector..

check

out, some guys in Aussie land used one to detect & pull a $10-20k nugget from a full metre down in the ground.

love the way the guys dance around with 'gold fever' at the end of the vid

now i want one a GPX 5000 too !

Thanks for the link. They actually have a GPX5000 listed, but it says they are out of stock and the price is about 1000 USD more than I'd expect to pay stateside.

I may end up grabbing one of the lesser detectors and trying it out.
