Onward Travel Requirement On A Multiple Tv

Featured Replies

good afternoon all

I have a multiple entry TV and will be arriving in Thailand at the end of December

Just need clarification on whether proof of onward travel is required - as of yet I have none.

I am flying to Thailand (Chiang Mai) from Brisbane via Singapore with Singapore Airlines (UK Citizen)

If there is a risk of any hassle I really don't mind just getting a cheapo one way flight to show immigration - I am not a bluffing kind of guy!

many thanks

If you have a visa of any type a return or onward ticket is not required. It is only needed for a visa exempt 30 day entry.

Multiple entry tourist visas do not exist only X number of entries.

Also it appears you got your visa a bit early. Are you aware that the validity period of a visa starts on the date it was issued not when used.

A tourist visa is issued with the number of entries printed on it, elther 1, 2, or 3. As said there is no multiple entry tourist visa. The visa also has printed on it an "must enter before" date. Ali entries (be it 1, 2, or 3) must be used before (or on ) that date. The visa become valid the day that it is issued and EXPIRES on the "enter before date". You should have no problems with onward travel reservations as long as your visa is still valid.

thanks for the quick reply, sorry did not make myself clear I have a 3 x TV issued from the Thai Embassy in London.

My enter before date is 31st March 2013 as it was issued on 1st October and 60 days plus 30 extension from the end of March will be fine for me this time.

I realise I obtained this a bit earlier than ideal I just wanted to make sure I had the visa in my passport before I left the UK (as mentioned I am a UK citizen)

as this will be my first trip to Thailand on this type of visa I was just a bit nervous about applying in Brisbane (put it down to first time nerves - I am sure things will become clearer once I am there)

many thanks again - one more problem solved

As a side note. Thai immigration doesn't check on a return ticket, it is the airline. If for some reason the person at the counter gives you any problem, explain you have a visa and are exempt from the outbound ticket requirement. If that doesn't work, just ask them to check with their supervisor.
