To make marriage legal does there have to be x amount of money in the back each month.. Only his wife works, although he is in uk working at mo due back next week... He needs to get an Affirmation of Freedom to Marry from the embassy in Bangkok, have it translated and certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then go with his wife to be to the local Amphur office and get married. Bangkokhatter Posted November 7, 2012 Share Posted November 7, 2012 They just go to the local Amphur with their documents, they will register the marriage, if no queue takes about 10 minutes, can't remember the fee but it's peanuts. Mario2008 Posted November 7, 2012 Share Posted November 7, 2012 He has to get an affirmation of freedom to marry letter from his embassy. On that form he must also state his income and job.
