From Pattaya To Pantip Plaza. What's The Best Way?

I hate to drive car inside BKK, if not really necessary.

And I remember, that the car park at Pantip was full, the last time I went with my car.

So what's the best way to travel to Pantip from Pattaya (and back)?

First with Bus to Morchit, than by train/Skytrain?

Or with car and park outside BKK?

Any suggestions? Details?

thanks

Bus to Ekamai, Skytrain to Chidlom, walk to other side of Ratchaprasong near Central World and 50 Baht taxi ride to Pantip Plaza. Return just get a taxi to take you along the road to BTS then back to Ekamai bus station etc.

Curious though why Pantip? I have not been there for 2 years as much better deals at Fortune Town or apparently Seacon Square (never been to this one, just know the name from locals), you could probably drive to here on a Sunday and get parking. Or even Tuk Com on Pattaya Tai?

Cheers

I also hear that Zeer Rangsit is enormous and knocks Panthip into a cocked hat.

Easy to park too.

Even when I lived in Bangkok I rarely went to Panthip as it was such a hassle to get to - even if you could park, the traffic along that stretch of Petchburi is always horrendous. Also many 's the time the taxi's refused to go there, for the same reason.

And that's to say nothing of the <deleted> hustlers who try to sell you porn dvd's etc. They drive you round the bend.

Fortune Town or Zeer are my suggestions.....

I wasn't there for some years, but I liked browsing around, because you found everything on a relatively narrow space.

That's the main reason.

I have never been in Fortune Town, is it really worth a visit?

The way: Ekkamai --> BTS to Asok --> Taxi/MRT to Fortune? Or any better suggestions.

Definetely. It is many times bigger and has a spacious car park.

If I want to do some "serious" shopping, I travel to ZR. But you need a good condition, because of the giant building...

Or even Tuk Com on Pattaya Tai?

Too boring..wink.png

Bus to Ekkamai, skytrain to Rachetewi and walk from there. Same same in reverse to get back.

Drive to Swampy, leave car in car park and skytrain to and from Panthip.

If you're travelling without any bags in the hold you can get off the bus at Udomsuk now and get the BTS there.

I'd also say take the BTS to Rachatewi and walk the 10 mins to Panthip down Phetburi road.

Yes, that's what I would do if I ever went there again, which is most unlikely. Maybe 15 mins max walk from Rachatewi. Might be a problem if you're buying a desk top PC or something similar tho....

DVD's, no sweat - well not until you get them home, that is...smile.png

If you decide to go to Fortune, the MRT stops directly in front of Fortune Tower at the Rama 9 MRT stop. Less repair shops there, and less selection, but prices are comparable for most items.

Another option, and maybe the most convenient.

Bell bus from Pattaya bus station to airport.

For Pantip; Rail link "City Line" to Ratchaprarop Sta. Them moto or walk 3 blocks to Pantip.

For Fortune: Rail Link City Line or Express to Makkasan Sta. Walk 200 meters to MRT (Subway) then one stop to Rama-9, Fortune directly above.

If you feel really adventurous and want to try Zeer in Rangsit, Bell bus to Don Muang Airport, taxi to Zeer.

How far is it from Don Muang?

Not really far, but I have no clue, how to reach it with public transport

Bus 29, 510 pass there.

Much better and cheaper than Pantip. The scams, unfriendly staff and porn dealers hassling you is a major reason to avoid Pantip.

I'll give another Plus to Zeer, never go anywhere else (mainly because it's a 15 minute drive).

If coming by road from BKK look out for the big pink building on the right (Asia Airport Hotel), Zeer is the same building, if you get to Future Park you've gone too far.

Personally I would get the SRT to Rangsit then a Taxi to Zeer.

Since our OP is driving from Pattaya I would go north up Route 9 then left onto 305 (busy) then left again onto Vibhavadi Rangsit, just put 13.95963,100.621675 into the GPS :)
