November 11, 201213 yr Hi, I'm a South African national and my 3 month non-ed visa is almost up. Have all the documents and a 3 month extension has been approved by the MOE. One question though; Upon re-entering Thailand from Malaysia with my non-ed visa 3 months ago, I was asked to show statements of a bank account, in my name, holding at least B20 000 and an exit ticket out of Thailand before the 3 month expiration of the visa. Does anyone know whether I will have to show these same two things again at immigration tomorrow for the 3 month extension? Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Proctor
November 11, 201213 yr No, you will not have to show that. Only the documentation for the extension. Surprised they wanted to see the ticket and money at the border, doesn't happen very often.
November 11, 201213 yr Author Thanks Mario, Yeah that makes sense. For South African nationals though when crossing a land border into Thailand with any non-immigrant visa we are usually called into a small office and requested to show those items. It's such a sad thing that the much of the worlds picture of South Africa has depreciated to this extent. I guess the word "Africa" doesn't help by any means, especially amongst the Thais.

People of colour are having a hard time with the local area Educational Offices. Example Kalasin Area 1 office. My passport has the short form of my name, degrees are in long form. My passport photo clearly shows white caucasion Canadian. I was hassled, the excuse being "A lot of black people are using false documents". Does a white Canadian look black? no offence intended to people of colour.
