Single Or Multiple Entries

Featured Replies

my visa (non O ED) is due for extension in 11 days time. I will be trying to get it changed to retirement extension. i also would like to apply for re-entry, but am unsure as what to do. I will be making 3 trips outside Thailand in the next 9 month. My question is; would it be better for me to apply for multi re-entry or is the re-entry only valid for the duration of extension of stay (that is the 90 days)

thanks

If you are going to apply for a retirement extension, the extension is good for one year. You only have to report your address every 90 days, you do not have to leave the country. Re-entry visas are either single, 1000 baht or multiple, 3800 baht. I would get a multiple to cover your 3 planned trips and any emergency situation that might arise. If you are applying for a retirement extension you must have either 800000 baht in a Thai bank in your name only for 2 months or 65000 baht/month income from outside of Thailand. You could also use a combination of both that totals 800000 baht, the money usually doesn't have to be seasoned if you chose this option.
